The Story Behind the Stars

Ok, so I'll give you a little info about the "A Woman Needs" video, which you will all be able to see in January.

The song is about strong women, women following their hearts and their dreams. All of this was incorporated in to the video. It was very important to me that the video reflect the meaning of the song, as it's one of the most special songs on the record to me. And my fabulous director Kristin Barlowe came up with an extremely cool way to tell a story with the meaning of the song.

The heart of the video other than women following their dreams is lifelong friendships between women. The video follows 3 women (yes I'm one of them) who are independent and unique, but have a common tie - lifelong friendship. Those of you girls out there know how special friendships between women can be....when we're not being catty of course. Haha. ;0)

Without giving too much away, I'll tell you that the star tattoo was used on the three of us girls as something we did for our friendship. I thought the tattoo was really cool, so I decided to get it for real. And it now means a lot to me - it will always remind me of the song that's so special to me, the title of my first solo record, of never giving up on following my dreams.

Yeah, sappy, I know. But that's just how I feel about this song and video. So I can't wait for y'all to see it, and I hope you like it!

In the meantime, if you're ever in the Nashville area and want some ink done, my longtime tattoo artist is Tim Bobeck and he works at Lone Wolf on Broadway. He's done many, many of my tattoos and he's amazing. We're actually getting ready to start a new project that will probably take a couple of months! Boy, my parents must be proud. ;)
